CMEF is the first membership organization bringing together the leading private entities that make equity investments in microfinance institutions in the developing world. The aim of the Council is to spearhead the advancement of the field of equity investment in microfinance through a number of initiatives and research projects. The results of the research are made available through publications. The first publication, Characteristics of Equity Investment in Microfinance, examines the state of equity investment in microfinance institutions today.
